Dear Chardonnay Village Homeowners:
We are pleased to report that Mayor Mike Yenni, Council woman Marie Defrancesch, and Chief of Police Steve Caraway have been invited to attend the Homeowners meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 7:00, p.m. to discuss some of Kenner's projects and to answer any of your concerns. We hope as many Homeowners as possible will attend the meeting to be held in the refurbished Cabana.
There have also been some recent decisions made by the Chardonnay Village Board of Directors that will directly and indirectly affect you as Homeowners:
According to bylaws and following proper procedure, Certain Property Management's services were found to be not in keeping with the stated contract: Calls were not answered by staff personnel: emergencies that had arisen were not answered by the firm; and routine maintenance was not being attended to. For these reasons, the board voted to fire the firm and to begin looking for a replacement. In the meantime, a maintenance person has been hired temporarily until a full time maintenance person can be hired.
The board composition was also realigned following proper procedures. The new officers of the board are:
Durel Burke-President
Vice president-Richard Sanders
Secretary-Judy Miranti
Treasurer-Dave Learned
Executive (non-voting) secretary-Beth Johnson.
The Architectural Firm of Doug Mayo has been hired to review the scope of work and to put together the bid process that would begin the much needed repairs and renovations of Chardonnay Village. He will be meeting with the Board of Directors at 2:00 today. A report of that meeting will be sent to you along with the minutes of the recent board meetings.
ASU is still our accounting firm and the procedure for paying your condo dues has been sent to all Homeowners. If you need any information regarding this, please call the office phone at 504-468-1958
A LISTSERV of Chardonnay Village Homeowners has been compiled so that information can be sent in a timely manner. We are also looking into having a Website for our Homeowners where minutes and financial reports can be posted and information disseminated.
We welcome your ideas and concerns and ask that you be a part of these exciting times for Chardonnay Village.
Respectfully,
Chardonnay Village Board of Directors:
Diane Allen
Durel Burke
Bartlyn David
Dave Learned
Judith Miranti
Ed Payne
Richard Sanders
LaToya Session
Sandy Somerville
Hope this is helpful
