PLEASE TAKE NOTICE OF THE INFORMATION BELOW SENT BY ENTERGY REGARDING THE PLANNED OUTAGE IS YOUR AREAS! All, Entergy is planning on temporarily de-energizing the Transmission line that runs between University City substation (end of Tulane) and Snakefarm substation (Airline @ David). The planned outage is to provide clearance to accommodate drainage work on the canal that runs along David Dr. between W Metairie and W Napoleon and will last four weeks. (9/30/13 - 10/28/13) This should be a non-event but does create some risk for the customers served by the University City substation. See attachment for the area (in red) of Kenner served by University City substation. The area includes District's 4 and 5 and a small section of District 1. The risk is that the substation will only have one transmission line into it during this period instead of its traditional two. This is done all the time to industrial customers and substations around our system when maintenance or clearance issues dictate. We do not anticipate any problems but wanted to make the City and elected officials were aware since it was for an extended period of time. If we did lose the one feed into the substation we could be looking at 4 hours (worst case) to pick up all of the customers in the red area. We would appreciate that you keep this information to yourself as it is confidential. You may recall we did this two years ago for 8 weeks. I will also notify JP Drainage since they have two pump stations at risk that serve Kenner. They have back up generation back up at these sites. If you have any questions, call me.
